Today I will demo Adobe Illustrator and we will begin to use the program. Once the demo is complete - you will work independently on the following:

INSTRUCTIONS: (30 minute assignment)

Create a representational design (should look like something recognizable)

Want credit?

• Demonstrate proficiency in modifying shapes using the direct select tool.
• This means that ALL (or nearly all) the shapes will be modified.
• Fill with a wide variety of different patterns and gradients.
• Demonstrate a wide variety of stroke colors and thicknesses. 
• Demonstrate plenty of overlapping.

TO SAVE for a GRADE:

1. Save your Illustrator file onto your desktop - CRTL + S
2. Upload your .AI file (Illustrator file) to Your Google Drive > MINOR ASSIGNMENTS
3. in Illustrator EXPORT > as JPEG > CLICK Use Artboards > Save
4. Post to Your Google Classroom Assignment
5. Post on Your Blog in MINOR ASSIGNMENTS

2) Set up-you Google Drive

3) Finish your Blogger or Google Site

How to Set-up Your Folder in Google Drive
I WILL NOT grade documents that are labeled incorrectly or in the wrong folder.

1. In your Google Drive, click NEW and select FOLDER 
2. Name your folder : FIRSTNAME LASTNAME GDesign2021 
3. Select your new folder 
1. Within that folder, click NEW and select FOLDER 
4. Create 2 new folders labeled: 
1. Final Projects
2. Working Files
3. Misc Files 
5. Return to your Google Drive 
6. Select the Folder labeled: FIRSTNAME LASTNAME GDesign2021 
7. Right click and select SHARE 
8. Input me email address: vivianna.acuna-francisco@wtsdnj.com 
9. Be sure it says CAN EDIT 

This will give me access to your Graphic Design files only.

Today you will begin to create your own blog to display your work in this class. 

Your blog should reflect your individuality, and creativity

Designing your Blog should take you about 2 class periods. Your initial set-up will be a Minor Grade.

SPECS:

Pages: (you must have the following)

1. About Me Home Page (tell everyone about yourself, add photos, discuss likes and interests)
2. Minor Assignments (you will post your work here in the short future)
3. Major Assignments (you will post your work here in the short future)

Remember to go to LAYOUT > Click Pages Gadget > Select All > Save to make pages viewable

Customize your blog:

1. Change colors
2. Use your own photography or illustrations (do not use stock photos)
3. Go to Themes > Customize
4. Change Fonts

Create your own blog using your school gmail account. 

Your Blog name should include Your First Name and Your Last Name Initial, for example:

You will be required to create and maintain your personal blog, while adhering to the internet rules and regulations you've signed off on in order to participate in this course. 

Think of your blog as your sketchbook, your very PUBLIC sketchbook. 

 

We'll start blogging together, but if you need the instructions, google has very detailed instructions which you can view at home this evening and continue this process at home..

 Welcome to JFKMHS Graphic Design I - Fall 2021

This is a beginning course in graphic design. Students will use Adobe's premiere graphics software - Illustrator and Photoshop CS5. During the first half of the course students will will focus of basic graphic design principles while they use Illustrator to explore typography, layout, advertising and logo design. The second half of the term is dedicated to Photoshop where students will learn basic photo manipulation tools and techniques as well as color correction, cropping, filters & adjustments, composite imaging, and photo restoration.
